Innsmouth

A decaying seaport north of Arkham, half-abandoned and wholly avoided by its neighbours, Innsmouth is the setting of Lovecraft's 1931 novella The Shadow Over Innsmouth. The town made a bargain generations back: gold and full nets from the sea, in exchange for marriages no one will speak of. The price comes due slowly, in the faces of its oldest families.
The Gilman House still takes guests. The reef offshore is not a reef. Over the decades Innsmouth has become one of the central places of the whole Mythos, a byword for tainted blood, coastal rot, and the patient thing that waits for you to come down to it rather than coming for you.
The Archive keeps more Innsmouth material than any other single locality. More of it keeps coming back.
