Mothman

For thirteen months, from November 1966, people around Point Pleasant, West Virginia reported a tall winged figure with red eyes that caught the headlights and kept pace with cars at impossible speed. The sightings clustered near an old wartime munitions site the locals called the TNT area.
Then, in December 1967, the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River collapsed at rush hour and forty-six people died. After that the Mothman became something more than a monster: a thing seen before disasters, a warning no one knew how to read in time.
Whatever it was, it left Point Pleasant with a story the whole country borrowed. The Archive keeps one recording for it, and plays it the way you would ring a bell you hoped no one would ever need.
