The Hopkinsville Goblins

On an August night in 1955, the Sutton family of Kelly, near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, said they were besieged in their farmhouse for hours by small silver humanoid creatures with large ears and glowing eyes, which floated, scuttled, and shrugged off shotgun blasts. The family fled to the police, who found them genuinely terrified and found nothing else.
The Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter became one of the most carefully recorded close encounters in the record, the source of the phrase 'little green men', though the witnesses always said silver. O Devil, Where Art Thou? carries their night among its ten tales of American terror.
